The quickest way to grow a pet journal is to buy pets. Every pet here is sold for gold alone, with no drop chance. Some vendors only sell once you are Honored or Revered with their faction; the list says which.
Vendors, prices and reputations come from the game client's own data (build 12.1.5.70783). Pets only one faction can buy, guild vendor pets and PvP rewards are left out.
