Leveling rankings are early forecasts, not tested 1–60 results.

Beast Mastery Hunter is the best leveling class in WoW Forever according to the early forecasts, followed by Affliction Warlock and Frost Mage. The comparison of five beta tier lists published by wowforeverleveling.com and updated 4 November 2026 puts Beast Mastery Hunter in the top tier on all five.

Early forecastNobody had played past level 30 before launch on 4 November 2026, so rankings for levels 31–60 are early forecasts from client data. This guide uses the WoW Forever DB Leveling tier list dated 3 November 2026 and the wowforeverleveling.com comparison updated 4 November 2026.

What the lists agree on

In the five-list comparison, Affliction Warlock is top or second on every list. Frost Mage is described as strong but fragile. Warrior is last or near last for solo leveling, even though the comparison describes it as strong at level 60 and in groups. Those higher-level expectations are forecasts too.

WoW Forever DB’s own early forecast places Beast Mastery Hunter alone in S tier, with a score of 4.40. Affliction Warlock, Feral Bear Druid and Frost Mage are in A, all close calls. The agreement is useful for narrowing your choices, but it is not proof of a complete leveling experience that nobody had yet played.

Beast Mastery Hunter: the leading forecast

The first limitation is simple: you have no pet at levels 1–9. The pet arrives at level 10 and takes hits for you. Mend Pet follows at 12, Aspect of the Cheetah at 20, and Feign Death at 30. Keep that order in mind when judging how the class feels at the start.

The pet is a central reason for the recommendation, but Hunter still has costs to manage. Ammo and pet food are constant needs. In the WoW Forever DB leveling forecast, Beast Mastery is weakest on gold and gear dependence. The top overall rating does not mean it is the least demanding choice in every category.

Affliction Warlock: expect an uneven start

Affliction’s levels 6–10 are a pain point, with the Imp, a wand and drinking part of that stretch. The Voidwalker arrives at level 10. Warlock also has no movement speed increase before the Felsteed at level 40, which matters if travel is a major part of your choice.

WoW Forever DB dropped Affliction from S to A after the 2 November notes shortened how long the Voidwalker could hold a pull. That change belongs beside the recommendation: the early forecast still rates Affliction highly, but its pet assumptions changed before launch.

Frost Mage: a less gold-hungry option

Frost, Arcane and Fire Mage all score 5 for low gold and gear dependence in the WoW Forever DB early leveling forecast. If that criterion matters most to you, Mage deserves a look. Frost is also one of that list’s close-call A-tier picks.

The five-list comparison calls Frost strong but fragile. Consider both parts of that description. Low gold and gear dependence is one useful advantage; it is not a promise that the class will feel comfortable to everyone.

Choose by the part of leveling you care about

  • Overall forecast: Beast Mastery Hunter leads the WoW Forever DB list and sits in the top tier on all five lists in the comparison.
  • Low gold and gear dependence: Frost, Arcane and Fire Mage share the strongest score in the WoW Forever DB forecast.
  • Travel before a mount: Beast Mastery, Marksmanship and Survival Hunter, plus Feral Cat Druid, are the fastest picks in that forecast.
  • Another highly rated option: Feral Bear Druid joins Affliction Warlock and Frost Mage in the WoW Forever DB forecast’s A tier.

A note for Warrior players

WoW Forever DB’s early leveling forecast puts Arms and Fury Warrior in F tier and Protection Warrior in D. The five-list comparison reaches a similar conclusion about solo leveling. Read that as a warning about the predicted solo experience, while remembering that its positive expectations for level 60 remain untested forecasts.

You can use a ranking to understand a tradeoff without letting it choose your character. The five-list comparison’s advice is that a class you enjoy beats a top-tier class you dislike. Start with the play style you want, then use the early pain points, supply needs and travel forecasts to set your expectations.
